Peter Leinweiber

Pete was a member of the Barbarians from 1999 to 2001.
Pete orginally from Portland, America worked as a ELT in the city and came to the Barbars to play in the social grades. He picked up the game very quickly however and before long was in the Ateam. In the 2001 East Japan tournament Pete was the A team`s best forward having a terrific game in the East Japan final getting a good dot next to the sticks. Peter was of great value to the team off-field and a constant source of humour. He often "did the violence", had a set to in Susukino with a yakuza and his switch blade losing the top of his finger and once to everyone`s amusement, got lost while on tour and knocked on the door of an elderly couple in Bekkai at 3 in the morning asking "barbarians wa doko desu ka". Peter was sorely missed when he left Sapporo.
