Ben was an invited player for the club in the
1993 and 1994 seasons.
Ben is easily the tallest player the club has had
play for them with a height over 2.08cm.

AT comes from that marvellous breeding ground

Having immense talent along with the likes of Marty
Holah, Wayne Simeon and at least a couple of others
we knew AT was going to produce the goods at halfback
for the Barbarians.
Blessed with a pass of extreme pace he ignited our
backline with quick ball. AT and Nathan Prestidge
were an excellent pairing for the team, their good
understanding of each others play helping the team
Once AT, a keen trainer and gym goer was trying
to buff himself for the rugby season, he took a
banned fat loss substance called hydroxy cut that
really messed with his lid when combined with a
very hot day at Nopporo one game.
With very shaky legs and pupils in a distressed
state he had to leave the field. All the boys slowed
down with their hydroxy cut intake before matches
AT is a top bloke and team man, always adding humour
with a good story.
He once even created his own Japanese word "bukachi"
meaning to give oneself entirely to the spirit of
He had trouble convincing the Japanese players of
it`s legitimacy with some shortcomings in explaining
it`s kanji components but the foreigners in the
team embraced the word and would often mutter it
to themselves in challenging circumstances.
